Wankhede Stadium Mumbai

Mumbai is known as the cricket capital of India and it houses Wankhede Stadium, which is one of the most prominent cricket venues in India. Situated in the Indian city of Mumbai the Wankhede Stadium has hosted a large number of domestic as well as international cricket matches. The Seshrao Krushnarao Wankhede Stadium, commonly known as Wankhede Stadium is a cricket stadium has earned global repute. The ground was constructed after some disagreements arose between the Cricket Club of India and the Mumbai Cricket Association over the distribution of tickets for cricket matches. At the initiative taken by S. K. Wankhede, MCA erected the new stadium in South Mumbai near the Churchgate station. Built within the span of six months, the ground became available for the final Test between India and the West Indies in 1975. Since then the Wankhede stadium has hosted several international cricket tournaments.
